Registration Now Open for a Scottish Evening at Kernstown Battlefield!
Join the Kernstown Battlefield on Saturday, September 26th at 6pm for a Scottish Evening featuring the Winchester Pipes and Drums Band! Admission is only $59 per person and includes entertainment, complimentary refreshments and a small Kernstown Battlefield gift packet. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit Kernstown Battlefield Association.

“Closing” Day at Kernstown Battlefield
Join us for the final day of the Kernstown Battlefield regular season! This will be the last regularly scheduled day of the year to enjoy the Visitor’s Center and Artillery Building, as well as to receive free tours of the battlefield and Pritchard House.

Join noted author and historian Gary Ecelbarger on Friday, July 31st at noon for the grand opening tour of the connector trail from Rose Hill Park to the recently acquired Kernstown Battlefield Association’s Sandy Ridge property!
Author-Led Tour: Second Battle of Kernstown
Join author/historian Scott Patchan for his popular tour of the 2nd Battle of Kernstown, fought July 24, 1864. The half-day tour will begin at 9 am. Scott is the author of many great books on Civil War conflict in the Valley, including Shenandoah Summer, The Last Battle of Winchester, and Worthy of a Higher Rank.
Kernstown Battlefield Association Hosting Large Book Sale This Weekend!
Are you a fan of Civil War books? If so, join us at Kernstown Battlefield for a large book sale this weekend in our Artillery Building! We have hundreds of new and gently used books on the Civil War in general, key people and key battles, as well as pictorial books and collections. We are asking for donations of $5 per book or three books for $10. Cash, checks and cards accepted. Open this weekend Fri., July 24th - Sunday, July 26th, 10am - 4pm each day. All proceeds will benefit the non-profit KBA and go towards preserving and interpreting our beautiful property!

Winchester Civil War Weekend: Special Presentations on Civil War Medicine and Ordnance
Join Kernstown Battlefield as part of the Winchester Civil War Weekend sponsored by the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation. Kernstown docents will be presenting two programs: “Civil War Artillery, Ordnance and Fuses” by Larry Turner and “Civil War Era Medicine: Surgeries and Herbal Remedies” by Susi Weston. The battlefield will also be open during our regular hours of 10 am - 4 pm.
