Author-Led Tour: Second Battle of Kernstown
Join author/historian Scott Patchan for his popular tour of the 2nd Battle of Kernstown, fought July 24, 1864. The half-day tour will begin at 9 am. Scott is the author of many great books on Civil War conflict in the Valley, including Shenandoah Summer, The Last Battle of Winchester, and Worthy of a Higher Rank.

Join us for the final day of the Kernstown Battlefield regular season! This will be the last regularly scheduled day of the year to enjoy the Visitor’s Center and Artillery Building, as well as to receive free tours of the battlefield and Pritchard House.

Winchester Civil War Weekend: Special Presentations on Civil War Medicine and Ordnance
Join Kernstown Battlefield as part of the Winchester Civil War Weekend sponsored by the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation. Kernstown docents will be presenting two programs: “Civil War Artillery, Ordnance and Fuses” by Larry Turner and “Civil War Era Medicine: Surgeries and Herbal Remedies” by Susi Weston. The battlefield will also be open during our regular hours of 10 am - 4 pm.
