On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the KBA will hold its annual meeting from 12 noon to 4 pm. Lunch will be served from noon to 1:00 pm, followed by our guest speaker, Mr. Ted Browne, great-great grandson of Capt. James Huntington, commander of Battery H (Huntington’s battery), 1st Ohio Light Artillery. He will talk about the chaos of the Union artillery officers in the 1862 Campaign, with first person officer and soldier diary accounts; the Union reconnaissance to Fisher’s Hill before the Battle of First Kernstown; the skirmish of March 22, 1862 when Brig. Gen. Shields was wounded; and then the movement of their guns and primary accounts from Battery H and Clark’s battery at the battle at The Coaling at Port Republic.
We will have an election of Directors for the KBA Board, the KBA President’s Award, and financial and special project updates. Time and weather permitting, we will offer tours of the property and Pritchard House. There will also be a large book sale, so consider coming early to check out the inventory!
Part of the benefits of being a member of the KBA is your ability to vote on the Directors who control KBA spending on projects and their priority of execution each year. We hope to see you!
