KBA Presents Award for Garden Project at the Battlefield

KBA President Sheppard and Margaret Walsh

Margaret Walsh, a volunteer with the Kernstown Battlefield Association (KBA), was recently presented with the KBA President's Award at the Glass-Glen Burnie Garden Club (GGBGC) February meeting held in the KBA Conference Center. KBA President Gary Sheppard presented the award to Margaret to recognize her for her initiative to partner the GGBGC with the Kernstown Battlefield. Beginning in 2025, the GGBGC has done an outstanding job of replanting and expanding the gardens on the battlefield property using native plants. Margaret was presented with the award and a gift card. The GGBGC in turn donated two beautiful benches to the Kernstown Battlefield. The KBA cannot thank Margaret and the other volunteers of the GGBGC enough for all the hard work they do throughout the year in building and maintaining the beautiful gardens. When you visit the battlefield, please take a few moments to admire their work!
