Driving Directions to the Kernstown Battlefield

The Kernstown Battlefield is located at

610 Battle Park Drive, Winchester, Virginia 22601

Battle Park Drive runs west off from Valley Avenue (Rt. 11) between

Creekside Station Shopping Center and the Mazda/Subaru Dealer

From North via I-81:

Driving south, pass Winchester to Kernstown Exit 310. At the top of the exit ramp turn right onto VA 37 and after about 150 yards exit right again to Rt. 11 North. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp.

From South via I-81:

After passing Middletown and Stephens City, continue to Kernstown Exit 310. At the top of the ramp turn left onto VA 37 and proceed about 200 yards and exit right again to Rt. 11 North. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp.

From Rt. 7 Westbound or Rt. 50 Westbound toward Winchester.

Exit onto I-81 South and proceed to Kernstown Exit 310. At the top of the exit ramp turn right onto VA 37 and after about 150 yards exit right again to Rt. 11 North. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp.

From Rt. 522 Southbound toward Winchester:

Turn right onto VA 37 South and proceed approximately 5 miles to the end of VA 37. Exit right for Rt. 11. At the bottom of the ramp turn left onto Rt. 11 North.

From Winchester:

Proceed south on Rt. 11 (Valley Avenue). Turn right onto Battle Park Drive immediately after the Mazda/Subaru Dealership on the right. Proceed straight ahead for two blocks and pass through the iron gate. Follow the lane to the Visitor Center on the right.

From Washington Dulles International Airport:

Proceed south toward Chantilly on Rt. 28 for approximately 3 miles and exit onto Rt. 50 West. Stay on Rt. 50 to Winchester and then exit left onto I-81 South and proceed to Kernstown Exit 310. At the top of the exit ramp turn right onto VA 37 and after about 150 yards exit right again to Rt. 11 North. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp.

From the Kernstown exit at Rt. 11 North, proceed 1.5 miles. After the 5th stop light prepare to turn left onto Battle Park Drive located between the Creekside Shopping Plaza and the Mazda/Subaru Dealer. Proceed straight ahead for two blocks and pass through the iron gate. Follow the lane to the Visitor Center on the right.
